Dispatchers see who is driving right now, how much driving time is left before the break and for the day, and get a warning before the driver breaks the rules. Data comes from the digital tachograph over CAN/FMS together with regular telemetry.
The four things fleets ask for when they want the tachograph inside their tracking system.
Driving, work, availability and rest for both tachograph slots, with start time. Regulation pictograms, the same as on the tachograph display.
Continuous and daily driving under Regulation (EC) 561/2006 and AETR: 4.5 h until a 45 min break (or 15 + 30), 9 h per day. The panel shows the time left.
The driver card number matches the identifier in the driver list. Insert the card and the driver is assigned to the vehicle: reports, trips and alerts already show the name.
15 min before a mandatory break, 4.5 h without a break, 15 min before the daily time ends, daily time used up, driving without a card. Each one is enabled separately.
Tachograph data comes from the vehicle bus, and on the road the bus behaves differently. Here is how that is handled.
When the tachograph reports its own time thresholds, the panel and warnings use them. The server's own calculation covers vehicles without thresholds and is labelled as an estimate.
With the engine off the CAN bus sleeps and tachograph data disappears. For a driver with a card in a parked vehicle the server counts rest; on the move without data the activity is shown as unknown.
The tachograph records a few seconds of work at every stop. On the panel and in the report such fragments merge into neighbouring episodes; the database keeps them all.
A tracker connected to the CAN bus or FMS connector of a vehicle with a digital tachograph. Activities, cards and time thresholds arrive in the standard FMS message; tachograph settings stay as they are.
The driver card number is sent by Teltonika FMB640 and FMC650, Ruptela with tachograph data, Globus GL9 from firmware 2.1.77 and GL7 from 2.1.164.
Live tachograph data travels as regular telemetry and needs no company card. Remote download of DDD files with a company card, for archiving and inspections, is in development now. Leave a request and we will let you know at launch.
You enable the Tachograph module in a client's card and sell it as a separate service at your own price: a catalog service links to the portal module. The client sees the tachograph once the module is on.
The module already runs on trucks of platform clients.
